ANIMATING HEBREW LETTERS

Hebrew script is an ancient combination of letters and pictures which is easy to copy and bring to life. In this workshop you will learn the Hebrew alphabet by copying the letters of your name. You will also be introduced to the original humorous additions with which the Jewish scribes animated the text and be given the chance to try your own.

WALKING AND POETRY WORKSHOP WITH HARRIET TARLO

Meeting at Hepworth Church
A workshop suitable for beginners and more experienced poets. Harriet Tarlo is a poet based in the Holme Valley who has published many poems based around walking. She will give a talk, including a short reading, suggest some writing/walking strategies and take a short guided walk around Cheesegate Nab in order to put these ideas into practice. Numbers are limited so ring now if you are interested.
On the day, you will need reasonably stout shoes or boots and notebook and pen.

EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED
17, 19 and 20 June,

Everything is Illuminated is a series of workshops, inspired by the illuminated manuscripts found in the Magnificent Miniatures exhibition. You will be using card and various papers in gorgeous colours and embellishing them with gold and silver to produce unique signature pieces of work, for an illuminating experience.
The workshops are open to everyone. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness
to have a go. All materials are provided.
