Local artists scoop festival sculpture trail prizes
A local artist and city centre arts organisation have scooped the prizes in the Holmfirth Arts Festival ‘Art in the Woods’ sculpture trail competition.
Artist Claire Louise Mather, from Saddleworth, won the Individual Artist prize with her installation called ‘I Stand Alone‘, a tree whose trunk was made of books with textile branches…

Holmfirth’s famous friendly tiger celebrated at #HAFest2016
The life of Holmfirth’s famous friendly tiger, Fenella, who lived in the town during the 1940s, will be celebrated at this year’s Holmfirth Arts Festival.
Events include an exclusive interview with one of the family members who owned Fenella, an exhibition of photographs of the tiger, and an evening of songs and stories about Fenella – some true, some made up – with comedian and broadcaster Ian McMillan...
