By car
Holmfirth is about 6 miles south of Huddersfield, which is easily accessed from Junctions 23 and 24 off the M62 between Manchester and Leeds.
Follow directions from the M62 into Huddersfield and join the A62 ring road anti-clockwise, towards the university. Take the turning onto the A616 signed 'Holme Valley' and follow this into Honley, where forking right onto the A6024 will bring you into Holmfirth with the river on your left.
There is also a scenic route from east Manchester, following the A635 through Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge and Mossley, over Saddleworth Moor.
From Sheffield, take the A61 northwards towards Barnsley, then branch off onto the A629 towards Huddersfield. Turn off onto the A635 which which will bring you right into the centre of Holmfirth.
By public transport
The nearest mainline train stations are at Huddersfield and Wakefield, and frequent bus services run to Holmfirth from both. If you're coming up from Sheffield or Barnsley way then Brockholes station on the Penistone Line is just ten minutes from Holmfirth.
A free bus shuttle will take you from Wakefield train station to the bus station. Catch the 435 or 436 bus service to Holmfirth.
From Huddersfield train station, the bus station is well signposted and only two minutes walk away. Catch the 313, 314, 315 or 316 bus service to Holmfirth.
On foot
Holmfirth is only a mile or so from the route of the Pennine Way. If you're trekking past, why not stop for a day or two and sample some of the festival?
