There are several ways to get involved with Holmfirth Arts Festival, depending on what you'd like to do, what your skills and experience are, and how much time you'd like to commit. Working with the festival is rewarding, fun and hard work.
The Board of Trustees
Holmfirth Arts Festival is currently seeking new trustees with experience in arts management, community work and education, and fundraising. The board meets between 4 and 6 times a year, though the work involved in being a trustee extends beyond attending meetings, especially as we approach each year's arts festival.
If you'd like to find out more about the responsibility involved in being a trustee please read these two briefings written by the Voluntary Arts Network which give a useful overview of a trustee's responsibilities:
Charity trustees; what do they do, part 1
Charity trustees; what do they do, part 2
For further information about becoming a trustee of Holmfirth Arts Festival please contact Keith Griffin by emailing him here.
The Festival Committee
The committee works closely with the Festival Director to plan and run the festival each year, from programming to fundraising, recruiting volunteers to running the friend's scheme.
We meet regularly, usually in the Carniceria in Holmfirth, and support the organisation in the festival with a good deal of laughter and enjoyment. We are always looking for new members, so if you're interested in joining us please get in touch with Liz Heywood here.
We are also on the lookout for more volunteers for this year's festival, if you want to know more about this please visit www.holmfirthartsfestival.co.uk/volunteering
