FANTASY FLOWER EMBELLISHMENTS with Jessica Grady

Learn to make colourful 3D textile embellishments, to be stitched onto the shirt element of your puppet. Create fantasy flowers, leaves and vines out of a variety of both recycled and natural materials such as fabric scraps, old envelopes, garden twine, wool, pages from old seed catalogues and found objects such as twigs, shells and seed pods. These materials will be cut, folded, embellished and scrunched into 3D fantasy flowers and then hand stitched onto your puppet.

Remember to pick up your materials from Holmfirth Tech (choose 1 date/time and drop in)

What you will need:

Needle and sewing thread or wool

Scissors

Pencil

Old or recycled papers - this could be anything from an old newspaper, magazine, envelope or coloured paper

Scraps of fabric - such as off-cuts from another project, an old duvet cover or old T-shirt or tea-towel

Found objects from the garden or beach- such as pretty shells, dried leaves, small sticks or feathers

What we will provide (Collection from Holmfirth Tech)

Pack of pre- die cut sequins from a variety of recycled materials and small fabric/paper/recycled scraps

Recycled Wires for plant vines

Drilled shells

Sparkly sequins/beads/buttons

Glue Stick

Unusual twines/ribbons/yarns for stitching

Can also includes needles if needed - one large eye and one small

We always offer our participatory programme free of charge, however, due to Covid-19, our Supporters have been unable to run our usual pre-festival fundraising events, so please donate what you can by text or website.  You can donate as many times as you wish.
