The 2025 Holmfirth Arts Festival ran across the Holme Valley from May to September, anchored by the Big Free Weekend on 14th and 15th June. The season blended performance, music, walks, installations and participatory events with a strong river andenvironment focus, including the community co-created River of Art trail and an Eco Expo. Co creation involved schools and local groups, with outreach into care homes, and a Graveship of Holme pageant in the town centre. Ticketed events continued through summer, spanning comedy, opera and altfolk. Overall, the festival consolidated its place based identity by celebrating landscape, heritage and inclusion.
