MAKE A HOMEMADE KNITTING MACHINE PART 1 with Elinor Sykes

Age 8+ to adult. Children will need some supervision. Over 2 workshops participants will learn how to set up the machine and create a basic knit. PART 1 Make your own homemade machine out of card and lollipop sticks and use it to create new fabrics out of found and recycled materials.

About the event
Part 1: Make your own homemade machine out of card and lollipop sticks and use it to create new fabrics out of found and recycled materials.
Remember to pick up your materials from Holmfirth Tech (choose 1 date/time and drop in)
Saturday 29th August 10.30am-12noon
Tuesday 1st  Sept. 10.30am-12noon
Wednesday 2nd 2-4pm
Friday 4th 2-4pm
Saturday 5th 2pm-4pm
Sunday 6th 2pm-4pm
What you will need:
A pair of scissors for cutting card
A pencil
A ruler
Possibly a craft knife and cutting mat
Household items to make yarn out of. Â For example plastic bags, old rubber gloves, old tights.
What we will provide (Collection from Holmfirth Tech)
(online video on how to make the knitting machine)
(online video with tips on making your own yarn out of household items)
12 x Lollipop sticks
1 x A4 thick card
2 x Bulldog clips
1 x roll double sided tape
1 x roll sellotape
1 x roll magic tape
250g plasticine
1 x ball of standard yarn (TBC)
