Old Walkways and Woodlands Walk

The starting point for the walk is in the Coop car park, by the steps to the duck feed area. 

We’ll head north by the river on Sands, past the community orchards and the Art Festival installations. Leaving the river behind we’ll ascend through woodland paths, rewilded through neglect yet full of charm. This leads us up to Berry Bank Lane,  an ancient pack horse route, where we see the old stone setted track still in place. Our return route takes in a little used footpath with surprising views of the Holme Valley as far as Holme Moss. At the close of the walk we loiter around the cobbled walkways behind the Parish Church.

Wear sensible shoes. Maximum number is 25. We recommend you purchase tickets in advance.
